The Long Home

About The Long Home

The Long Home is a 50-bed, not-for-profit, charitable home, which serves primarily low-income elderly individuals.  It was built in 1905 by the last will and testament of Judge Henry Long and his daughter, Catharine, who were both natives of Lancaster County.  In addition to setting aside land and funds for the home, this philanthropic family endowed their 80 acre family farm to the city of Lancaster to build a park, now known as Long's Park, famous world wide for the Sertoma Annual Chicken Barbeque and yearly Arts & Craft Festival.
